Guilty as charged… I have been procrastinating. I am getting requests from male members of Deidaaratti (Deidaa Mail Club), for a post on men’s fashion 2018. I have not risen to the occasion so far. Guilty as charged! My Mother’s Day 2018 post is late. Thanks in advance to the loyal readers of deidaablog for your patience. Members of Deidaaratti (Deidaa Mail Club) have been particularly kind to us this Mother’s Day. We are working overtime to meet the deadline. Deidaateam is busy wrapping the orders with handmade paper made out of fabric waste. Cards with handwritten messages are accompanying the gifts for mums across Australia. A few have left the shores for overseas destinations.
After all, Mother’s Day gifts must have that personal touch.
Most mums do not look for expensive gifts or elaborate rituals. They look for thought and action that reflect how well you know them and care for them.
How well do you know your mum? Is she a traveller or a crafter? Does she have green fingers? Is she a domestic goddess? Does she belong to the pearls and twin set club or is she the ’70s wild child? Here are a few tips that will help you ace Mother’s Day gift buying in 2018.

Before you flash your plastic fantastic, ensure the discounts are genuine.
There are genuine markdowns on full priced goods at Boxing Day sales:
This may be partly true, at best. Many stores create a ‘seconds’ line for sales and factory outlets.

Goodbye Caulfield Cup, Hello Derby Day…
Fashion at Caulfield Cup 2017 saw a profusion of ruffles, colour and florals. Pinks and corals were cheek by jowl with cobalt blue and emerald green. Caulfield Cup does not have a strict dress code. Relaxed and eclectic choices in dresses and accessories abounded.
Derby Day is the inaugural event of Melbourne Spring Racing Festival. Unlike Caulfield Cup, Derby Day is a traditionalist’s delight. It is set in the classic mode, with strict etiquette and dress code to follow. Derby Day is about monochrome, about tints and tones of black and white.
